We are constantly in the pursuit of great custom wedding invitations, and this is why we create them in our store. No boring invitation binders here! With your input into the design process every customer gets a one-of-a-kind custom invitation designed and printed on the premises. The Paper Tree is the only company in Alberta with designers on staff, a warehouse of paper stock and the ability to create your custom invitation order for a wedding, birthday party or corporate event. We handle the entire process from start to finish. There’s no waiting or guessing, like with some online orders. With The Paper Tree, you get exactly what you want.
Our process is simple, fun, and you are involved!
We accommodate walk-ins when we can, but appointments are recommended. Can’t make it in during business hours? No problem – we also offer consultations by appointment outside of regular hours. Please call at least one week in advance to book your consultation.
What happens at a consultation?
We do our best to make your custom invitation order easy. We’ll start by looking at any inspiration or ideas you may have found. Feel free to bring in samples, printouts or photos of invitations you like. Not sure where to start? You’ll be able to browse our large selection of sample invitations for inspiration. Once we have an idea of your style, our staff will help you customize your invitation. We’ll walk you through the selection of your custom pockets, paper, graphics, fonts and everything in between.
We do our best to break down the price of your invitation, so you know exactly how much each ‘piece of the puzzle’ costs. This makes it easy to see where you can make changes to fit your budget. Whether you’d like to assemble your invites, or have us do it, we’ll quote all your options.
Once we’ve quoted your custom invitation order, we start with a $75 deposit. Our designers will put together a stunning design using all your information which you’ll then be able to approve via email. Need to see some changes made? Revisions are included in your cost – just send us a quick email or give us a call and we’ll have your design updated by our team.
Once your digital proof is approved, we produce a hard copy proof at no additional charge (for first proof). This way, you can hold your invitation in your hands and make sure that the printing and layout are perfect. Unlike with some online invitation suppliers, there’s no waiting or guessing. Invitations typically take 3-4 weeks to produce; rush orders can be facilitated at an additional charge.
How much does it cost?
All of our invitations are custom designed by our on-staff graphic designers. No two invitations are the same! With such variety, it’s hard to quote your project until we have a consultation. On average, our invitations range from $3 – $10. The images below will give you a bit of an idea of some price range options.

At The Paper Tree, we create custom invitations for any occasion, not just weddings. Whether you have a birthday, corporate event or even a summer BBQ, we can design the perfect invitation. We even do birth announcements and holiday cards! The process is the same as above. Working with you, we’ll create an invitation suited to your style, event and budget.
